With less than 24 hours to go before the start we always find a last minute thing to tell you about, and this year is no exception. See our updates below; if anything more crops up I’ll add it here but for now let me, on behalf of the entire Fellsman Committee, wish you a very safe journey to the beautiful, if somewhat soggy Yorkshire Dales. We are looking forward to welcoming you at Threshfield this eveing and at the start in Ingleton tomorrow morning.
Patagonia Worn Wear Stand
As individual consumers, the single best thing we can do for the planet is to keep our stuff in use longer. This simple act of extending the life of our garments through proper care and repair reduces the need to buy more over time—thereby avoiding the CO2 emissions, waste output and water usage required to build it.
Their stall will be located in the school hall at the finish of The Fellsman at the Upper Wharfedale School in Threshfield. The Patagonia team will make free repairs on your busted zippers, rips, tears, buttons and more (they fix all brands). They’ll also show you how to make simple repairs on clothes that have a second life left in them.
The Worn Wear sessions will run from 10:00 – 17:00 on Saturday (ideal if you have friends wanting to catch up with you later on the event who can give your stuff in) and from roughly 09:00 until 13:00 on Sunday.
*Fine print: the staff can fix about 20 garments per day, all repairs are made on a first come, first served basis. One repair per guest.
