This week the Committee found out about a very special Fellsman Challenge taking place this year. A group of five serving police officers are undertaking the Fellsman to raise money for CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) under the group name of Cops’n’Plodders. Their main motivation for this was the sad loss of a colleague to suicide. Cops’n’Plodders is made up of four previous Fellsman entrants (Joe Rotchell (one previous entry), Jon Wood (nine previous entries), Jane Carpenter (ten(ish) previous entries), Kendra Wedgewood (two previous entries), and Tim Corrigan – a Fellsman novice!!
After the Fellsman the group aims to encourage colleagues to join them on outdoor walks/runs and encourage conversation around mental health/depression and the stigmas that surround it.
If you would like to donate, or find out more information, t he group has a JustGiving page at http://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/copsnplodders and can be found on Twitter as @NYPlodders
The Fellsman Committee wishes them every success in their fundraising challenge, and on completing the Fellsman in April!
